On May 20 we moved to the familiar RV park at Colona Il in the Quad Cities metropolitan area. Jo lived here until in her 40s. We have parked the RV here for 10 years for Jo to visit her mother, older sister and other relatives and friends in the area. The Quad Cities in several ways is similar to Beloit WI where I grew up.
Jo visits her 97 year old mother early and often while we are in the area.
lots of rain left this small lake in front of our rig for several days.
We enjoyed the Red White and Boom fireworks display from the Figge Art Museum deck in Davenport on July 4 as the guests of Arla.
Here is the upper deck of the museum. More viewing space is inside. Beer and wine were available, and the Museum even served some Whitey’s ice cream!
A barge on the Mississippi River serves as the launching platform for the fireworks. Unfortunately, trees in the foreground blocked the view of the lower displays.
We waited patiently until 9:30 for the show to begin, and it was all over by 9:45.
Below are the better shots of the display. They do not do justice to the multiple bursts.
